About us

Our story from the very beginning

CityBugs’ core concept was formed during Hackathon Yerevan 2011. While participating in this hackathon, the X-Tech team presented their CityBugs idea, which won the nomination for the best social startup project. In 2012 CityBugs.am was officially launched with financial assistance from Eurasia Partnership Foundation. The idea is simple: the city is a system, while all the issues it has are bugs. In programming, a bug is any problem, error, or omission that disturbs a system’s normal workflow. City authorities can address issues faster when citizens report them clearly, and residents should also be able to track how those issues are solved.

CityBugs is Global

CityBugs is currently available only in Yerevan. In the future, it can be implemented in cities around the world, making urban problem reporting even better.

Easy to Use

Anyone can add a bug. On average it takes 1 minute. You need to add pictures, a name, choose a category and location. The system is available on iOS, Android, and web.

Social and multifaceted

The system serves both citizens, by enabling them to report the issues they are concerned about, and city authorities, who can perform their work more efficiently.

Transparent and participatory

Citizens track how issues are processed and feel their contribution to the overall procedure. This ensures a participatory approach to management.

About us

CityBugs is a social platform where community-related issues are raised, tracked, and solved. Residents can report problems they notice in public spaces, while community authorities can review those reports and coordinate the work needed to make neighborhoods cleaner, safer, and easier to live in.

The platform brings reports, locations, images, statuses, and public updates into one shared space. That makes it easier for people to understand what has already been reported, follow progress, and see how small local improvements add up across the city.

CityBugs is built around cooperation: citizens help identify the issues that matter in daily life, and responsible teams get clearer information for planning, prioritizing, and resolving them.
